3G Mermet Solar Shade Fabric
Normal Production Time 7 to 9 Days
Mermet - The brand the professionals trust.
3G Mermet specializes in solar screen fabrics made from high quality coated fiberglass yarn. 3G Mermet's fabric selections are a solution to solar protection, energy savings, visual comfort, decoration and acoustical comfort. Today, 3G Mermet remains focused on being the world leader in solar protection.
Woven and coated fiberglass fibers provide the ultimate in sun protection and years of durability. The fiberglass yarns are manufactured from natural minerals (quartz, sand, soda and lime) which are non-toxic.
The open weave allows the passage of fresh air, facilitating the steady evacuation of absorbed solar energy. This can provide pleasant temperatures without air conditioning and/or dramatically reduce costs related to air conditioning expenditures, which adds significantly to a building's energy consumption.
3G Mermet E-Screen
3G Mermet E-Screen is available in 5% openness and 10% openness. E-Screen reflects up to 64% of solar radiation and prevents heat loss in winter. The E Screen is the best choice for transparency while maximizing solar protection. Commonly used in applications where the view is an asset.
3G Mermet M-Screen
3G Mermet M-Screen is available in 3% openness and 5% openness. The softer, more textile appearance of this fabric makes it a popular choice for both residential and commercial applications.
3G Mermet Flocke Blackout
3G Mermet Flocke Blackout meets the highest demand for total light blocking, excellent solar heat reduction and flame safety. Their flocked finish gives them a rich look. They are durable and washable.
When installed with sufficient overlap of windows; mounting the shade above the window and beyond the window frame; exterior light will be mostly eliminated.

Inherently Flame Retardant:
All Mermet fabrics have been tested and comply with the stated requirements specified by NFPA 701 Small and Large Scale flammability requirements.
All Mermet fabrics also meet the minimum requirements of flame resistance established by the California State Fire Marshal for products identified in the California Health and Safety Code Section 13115.
Why Solar Shades Make Sense
Air Filtration through most 30-inch x 60-inch double-hung windows is like having a 12 square inch hole in the window.
Air filtration can be experienced by feeling cold air move across floors. It can be seen by watching drapes and shades move, and it can be heard whistling through the windows.
If you've ever stood by a window on a sunny day or a cold night then you know that windows have a lot to do with how comfortable your home or office feels.
Heat moves from warmer to colder areas and will enter through a window on a warmer day but escape through a window on a cold night.
Heat travels via three different methods.
Solar shades are an effective energy saver when properly installed and used. The shade forms an insulating layer of air between the shade and the window.
In summer solar shades should be lowered on sunlit windows to reduce solar heat gain.
In winter, shades, specifically on the south side of a building, should be raised during the day to increase solar heating, and then lowered at night to reduce heat loss.

Heat moves from warmer to colder areas and will enter through a window on a warmer day but escape through a window on a cold night.
Heat travels via three different methods.
- The first way is Radiation
Sunlight is radiation and most of it passes directly through glass, warming the objects on the other side.
- The second method is Conduction
Conduction occurs when heat is transmitted through an object. Glass is a good conductor, and transmits heat from warm air that touches it.
- The third method is Convection
Convection happens when heat is stirred by moving air.
