Transparent Mylar Solar Shades are made of a 3 ply, 4 mil mylar (polyester) material. A thin heat reflective aluminum coating is laminated between two glare reducing sheets of dyed polyester.

Cold Weather Applications
The single largest energy-waste area has been neglected - the windows.
It has been estimated that 20% of our nation's yearly energy production is consumed in the air conditioning of residential and commercial buildings, with windows accounting for a disproportionate 25% or 1.7 million barrels of oil per day.
Energy escapes at a rate of 10 to 13 times faster through windows than any other surface, and over two-thirds of the salvageable energy is lost at the window area. Money is literally going out the windows!
Transparent Mylar solar shades achieve the identical insulating air space principle as duo-pane glass, but the Transparent Mylar solar shades go a step further. The skillfully controlled metallized inner layer of the Transparent Mylar solar shade actually re-radiates furnace heat back inside the room. The metallized layer has a thermos bottle effect on windows. In cold weather, cold air penetration is limited and the interior warmth is kept inside.

Raise and lower shade regularly. Dust will drop off shade by the up and down movement. Dust frequently with a feather duster, Swiffer duster or soft cloth to prevent dirt buildup.
Smudges and fingerprints can be cleaned by washing with a mild detergent and a soft cloth and rinse well. To prevent scratching the shade surface use sufficient liquid to wash away smudges and fingerprints.
Water will drain easily from the vertical surface. Dry while shade is fully extended. Blot with soft cloth and lightly polish to remove water spots (easiest to work a small area at a time).
If you must remove shade from brackets for cleaning make sure the work surface is flat, smooth and clean. If possible leave shades in brackets while cleaning.
Fingerprints and most smudges are easily removed with Goo-Gone which can be found at Wal-Mart, Target, Lowes or Home Depot.

- Clutch-Operated Shades- Interior - Never needs adjustment, can go on either right or left end of shades
- Spring Roller - Rolls up and down by tugging on bottom bar
- Motorization - You can choose 110 Volt Standard Hardwired (Switch Operated), 110 Volt Radio Remote (hardwired to J-box or Plug-in), 12 Volt Battery Operation (Radio Remote Control),
- 12 Volt Radio Remote Battery Motorization - The tubular motor is located inside the roller tube. No wiring required.
- Inside or Outside Mount - Inside mount: the shade is mounted within the window frame. Outside Mount is mounted outside the window frame.
- Standard Roll - Standard Roll - Material rolls over the back of the roller.
- Reverse Roll - Reverse Roll the material rolls down over the front of the roller.
- Internal Hem Bar - A clean look that matches your shade material.
