7000 Series Skylight Shade
For windows that are flat and rectangular but without a vertical slope, a skylight shade is usually the preferred solution.
- 7001A folding Skylight Shade is ideal for easy operation in situations in which gravity is not sufficient to close the shade.
- Is suitable for large applications available in sizes up to 84 inches wide x 120 inches height.

- Skystar 7001A Skylight Shades
- The 7001A system is a manually-operated folding skylight shading system
- It is constructed with battens sewn into pockets across the shade width
- Carriers attached to the battens guide the fabric along tracks on either side of the shade.
- When the shade is opened, the fabric forms folds or pleats like a Roman shade.
- Operating System:
- The shade is operated with a wand that hooks into a ring in the center of the bottom rail
- Two tension cords extend down each side of the shade, pass through the bottom rail, and connect to the window frame at opposite corners, thus creating stability for the shade as it is opened and closed.
- Shade Fabric:
- choice of vinyl-coated fiberglass and vinyl-coated polyester yarns woven into various configurations and colors
- Woven yarn is interlocking and heat-treated so that all materials are securely bonded
- The woven fabrics are made by coating a high strength polyester or fiberglass yarn with a proprietary vinyl compound that employs performance additives
- This vinyl compound is specially formulated to resist fading, fire, mildew, soiling, and bacteria
- Vinyl-Coated Polyester Fabrics are available in the weaves listed below
- SheerWeave 4000, Openness Factor 5%
- SheerWeave 4100, Openness Factor 10%
- SheerWeave 4400, Openness Factor 3%
- SheerWeave 4800, Openness Factor 1%
- All vinyl-coated polyester fabrics are available in various colors, and in widths up to 98".
Totally opaque first quality materials with no pin holes, breaks, or cracks and is washable and colorfast.
- The following Blackout/Darkroom fabrics are available:
- Flocke, Openness Factor 0%: 48% fiberglass with 52% acrylic flocked backing
- Available in widths up to 78"
- Hexcel 1260, Openness Factor 0%: made from fiberglass coated with acrylic
- Available in widths up to 71"
- Darkroom 100, Openness Factor 0%: in 12 or 14 oz. 1- ply fiberglass, 3-plies plasticized PVC
- Available in widths up to 72"
- Flocke, Openness Factor 0%: 48% fiberglass with 52% acrylic flocked backing
- Tracks:
- Shall be of commercial quality 6063-T1 extruded aluminum not less than .055 inch wall thickness and shall meet AAMA standards.
- Tracks shall be 15/16 inches wide O.D. x 11/16 inches high O.D.
- Fabric Carriers:
- Shall be made of self-lubricating Delrin® and shall be compatible with track
- The eye and hook assembly shall be made of .093 inches Brite basic wire, Brite nickel plated.
- Battens:
- Shall be of 3/16 inch diameter anodized aluminum rod
- Shall be encased in back-facing pockets sewn horizontally into fabric and spaced approximately 8-3/4 inches apart. (Custom pleat spacing is available.)
- Headrail:
- Shall be 1-1/2 inches x 3/4 inches clear pine covered in shade fabric.
- Oval Bottom Rail:
- Shall be of 6063-T5 extruded aluminum alloy with continuous spline channel at top for fabric attachment.
- Oval Bottom Rail End Caps:
- Shall be molded polymer and shall match the color of the bottom rail.
- A metal grommet shall be installed in the end cap to allow the tension cords to pass through.
- Track End Caps:
- Shall be made of steel and finished to match the tracks.
- Track Brackets for Inside Mount:
- Shall be aluminum, 3/4 inches wide, and shall match the color of the track.
- Track Brackets for Inside Mount:
- Shall be aluminum, 5/8 inches wide, and shall match the color of the track.
- Adjustable Pole:
- Shall be made of clear anodized aluminum extendable to 96 inches long, or blue anodized aluminum extendable to 48 inches long.
- Pole shall have a custom-molded Delrin end cap.
- Operating Ring:
- Shall be a .35 inch extruded polymer ring attached to the shade’s bottom rail with rivets.
- Cord:
- Shall be white .02 mm polyester heat-set
